Newsletter November 8-12

Mrs. Dunsieth’s Newsletter

Week of November 8th-12th 2010

In Science this week…

We will be discussing Chapter 4 Lessons 7 & 8 this week. We will have a test on Lessons 6,7, and 8 Thursday, November 18th. Students should have throurough notes and packets to study from. They should do well if they have paid attention in class and took good notes.

In Bible this week…

The test for Unit 4 will be this Monday November 8th, 2010. For the test, the students should know the 1st 17 books of the Bible and the 2 categories they fall under. They should also know the main characters we have discussed. I wrote these on the board and also posted them here (the post before Planner November 8-12). Also, Bible workbook pages 55-74 (not torn out) are due for a grade Monday. Students have known about this for a while. Most have already turned theirs in. This week’s Bible verse is Hebrews 11:24-28. This time the verses will be Life Application. Students should explain how these verses can apply to their lives. (Life Lessons)

Field Trip!

I am excited to announce we have booked a field trip to the McWane Center for the Challenger Mission “Rendezvous with a Comet” for January 28th, 2011. This is a really neat program where students pretend to be on a space shuttle and conduct several space missions. This will go great with our Unit C in Science “Observing the Sky”. We will be sending out field trip forms this week. I know this is early, but we thought it would be best to go ahead and get this out of the way now before Christmas, etc. Cost is $17 per student, free for chaperones. Geography Bee!

The PCA Geography Bee will be held December 8 at 7:45 in the library. This program, sponsored by National Geographic, allows students to learn geography skills and facts and compete.
